Sep 19, 2018 · As Bruce has said 1BA is the standard suspension, and 1 BE is the sport suspension for the B9 A5 series. Both are fixed suspensions, and so there is no change in suspension characteristics regardless of what MMI drive mode is used. The adaptive suspension, which does change, is 1BL.

Having subsequently driven an A6 with air suspension, I can confirm that this does allow suspension settings to be changed (noticeably). With standard suspension the Drive Select settings change throttle response and steering weighting, but don't affect the ride.

There is a comfort (raised) fixed suspension made for the A4 with a different code, not available in NA region, not available on A5/S5. 1BM is a generic Audi code for standard suspension, but they use 1BA for B9, have never seen 1BM used for either B8 or B9.

Using the VCDS to interigate the module 34 level control I get: Front 1= 7mm Front 2 = -10mm Rear 1 = -10mm Rear 2 = 4mm The system goes up and down on all 4 stages, compressor working ( thanks to andy' s kit) but the car just does not sit flat.
